We’re excited to announce the final release of the updated PDF for The Sassoon Files, 2nd Edition. This will be the last version before the book goes to print.
Please take a moment to review the file carefully, especially if your name is included in the Acknowledgements section. If you notice any errors—whether related to spelling, formatting, or other details—please let us know as soon as possible.
Additionally, we’ll be reissuing all PDF coupons for the 2nd Edition when we send out the Backerkit Surveys. Stay tuned for more updates!

The Beta version of The Sassoon Files, 2nd Edition is complete and ready for release! You should receive the download link from DriveThru RPG in your email within the next hour.
IMPORTANT – If you do not receive the email from DTRPG:
Please wait 3 hours. We are sending out the emails in batches. You may experience a delay associated with use of the DTRPG servers, related software, or the internet.
Please check your spam folder.
You can also download the files from your DTRPG library; you don’t need to use the link in the email.
Check to see that the email you are using for DTRPG is the same as that used for your Kickstarter account. We are sending emails to your Kickstarter account emails.

Typically, after we send out the PDFs, our eagle-eyed backers find errors that got past our team. We will collect feedback over the next 3 weeks before sending out a final draft version to the printer. The final digital package will include a digital document containing all the handouts and Lore Sheets. Meanwhile, we are also preparing the Keeper's Kit set for production.
We will send out the Backerkit shortly after the holidays, after we reconfirm with our Printers. Stay tuned for more info.

Sassoon Files 2e submitted for review

Hi all,
This is a quick and exciting update. We completed the final draft of the entire book and submitted it to our strategic partner for review. As soon as that comes out of review, we will send out the PDF and the Backer’s Kit Survey. In the meantime, we are putting together finishing touches to the Keeper’s Kit.

We completed layout “blocking” for the entire book. The page count is looking to be north of 365. Adding Andrew Montgomery’s scenario “Drowned We are Born” (formerly titled “Pulp Profits”) required some narrative surgery to other portions of the book. We outsourced five tactical maps and a monster-character portrait to the experienced illustrator, Mr. Eric McMillen to speed up production. We expect receive all outstanding character portraits by the end of the month.
We are a couple of weeks from sending the PDF to our strategic partner to review our content. From experience, this process can take about a month to complete.
We are shooting to send out the PDF to our Backers December, and the Backer Surveys shortly there after. While we await feedback, we will turn our attention to updating and verifying the handouts in the Keeper’s Set. This means we are looking to go to print in January.
The American Holiday of Thanksgiving is approaching. We would like to thank our Backers for your patience. This project is taking longer than expected, which has caused us some anxiety. At the same time, events in Jason’s and Jesse’s lives (family and societal environment) have made us feel like the world is more precarious. Yet we have a lot to be thankful as we push through to the final stretch of fulfillment.

The good news is we are adding two scenarios to the book. The bad news is that this additional content likely comes at the cost of a delay. We are revising the delivery date of the PDF from the end of October to the end of December. We apologize for taking longer to get this project done.
We would like to remind everyone that the surveys have not yet been sent out. We send out the surveys just before our books are ready for PDF release (while our strategic partner is reviewing the pre-release version). Please expect the surveys in November.
When we received Andrew Montgomery’s manuscript for the new scenario, Drowned We Are Born, we knew it had to be included in the second edition of The Sassoon Files, regardless of stretch goal attainment. In Drowned We Are Born, the investigators must, at all costs, prevent newspaper mogul Henry E. Morris Jr. from publishing the insidious book Invocations to Dagon.
The Sassoon Files 2nd Edition will include a whopping 10 scenarios!

We reviewed, edited, and integrated the new scenario “Drowned We Are Born.” Below is a full-page art piece created for it by our artist Carlos.
Since the last update, we also received many new portraits from Hsiang.
We’ve completed layout on 3 of the now 10 scenarios. In the following weeks will finalize layout and then turn to completing the Keeper’s Kit.
